Hello! I’m Steven and also the founder of UrbanWrites. The reason why I started this website is because I believe that cities are oftentimes overlooked. My mission is to bring awareness on systemic urban issues like homelessness, gentrification, housing inequality, transportation accessibility, and anything urban-related. That’s why this platform is meant to keep people informed through in-depth research and news/opinion articles. Cities are constantly evolving, so knowing what’s changing around us is crucial. Additionally, too often, these issues are discussed in abstract terms, without truly understanding the experiences of those affected. That’s why I dedicate time to interviewing homeless individuals and amplifying their stories, which is the method I’m currently using to destigmatize homelessness and challenge misconceptions. Hopefully my interviews and the stories of many others will encourage you to support your local homeless shelters. Volunteering or giving a small donation would mean the world. If you care about cities, equity, and change, UrbanWrites is the website for you. Let’s work together to make our urban spaces more just, accessible, and livable for everyone!
